Nine Signature HealthCARE facilities attended a Tampa Bay Rays game at Tropicana Field. For one resident, Louis Tienken, this was a special game. Louis, a dedicated Rays fan and a World War II veteran, has never had the opportunity to attend a Rays game in his life. So on June 25, he was given the opportunity to throw the opening pitch at Tropicana Field.
Louis will be turning 90 years old this August and is a retired Air Force pilot. During a mission, Louis was flying a B-17 over the Pacific Ocean and was shot down. He was captured and held as a prisoner of war. After his release and recovery, he was decorated with Purple Heart for his dedicated service.
SHC at College Park, SHC of Port Charlotte, Golfview Healthcare Center, Kenilworth Care and Rehab, Heritage Park Care and Rehab, Gulfport Rehab, SHC of Pinellas Park, Peninsula Care & Rehab, and Southern Pines Care were all in attendance.
